M53 army helmet 1987 vintage Dutch soldier military, like M1 US model
Out of stock
This Iconic helmet is the 1980’s Dutch M53 version. An official copy for the Dutch Army from the 1950’s on. This is the model used from the 1970’s onward. Shapede exactly as the US M1 military helmet as used since world war 2 all over the world by different coutries. It has a clear stamp in the rim that says “lot 02/87”. The lining is a plastic cup with all of it’s canvas interior and fitted with a leather ring. Both (chin) straps are in there as well and complete. This piece is still covered with the military canvas camouflage as well as a piece of rubber to use for sticking leaves and branches in. It shows clear signs of use on the inside and outside as well as some corrosion and green/white flakes on the metal. The leather is a bit crunchy and the camouflage net is partially torn. Cool decorative item or a nice example to be using again after some restoration to the lining. It measures 28 cm or 11 inches in length.
