This Iconic helmet is the 1980’s Dutch M53 version. An official copy for the Dutch Army from the 1950’s on. This is the model used from the 1970’s onward. Shapede exactly as the US M1 military helmet as used since world war 2 all over the world by different coutries. It has a clear stamp in the rim that says “ VDN 4 /88”. The lining is canvas and leather in a grey inner helmet (grey for air force). The lining is good condition and almost complete, except for piece with chin lock. It shows clear signs of use and age on the inside and outside as well as some corrosion and on the metal. Cool decorative item or a nice example to be using again after some restoration to the lining. It measures 28 cm or 11 inches in length.
