This is an original used Cona Coffee maker from the 1980’s in the smaller size BD that produces about 4 cups of coffee. It shows clear signs of use on the black handle as well as on the chromium of the holder and in the glasses as well. It is in good shape to be used again. The Cona was invented by Abram Games in England (1947) in his laboratory and is becoming a design-classic, making the finest coffee with scientific flair. In the 2000’s the patent was sold to A. Gezang & Co, a company in The Hague (The Netherlands) that first imported and now produces the Cona to almost exact specs, since there was little to no room for improvement.
The basis for this is the innovative use of the thrust of overpressure through heating followed by underpressure through cooling, you can see the video below for the exact procedure. The result is a very hot and cup of pleasant tasting medium strong coffee  without bitter or sediment.
The burner works on commonly available fire / cleaning spirit, the special heat resistant glass is easy to clean and extra strong. The design is beautiful and the procedure a great show to look at (can be speeded up by heating already boiling water).
