This is a later plastic Faber Castell slide rule for craftsman, working heavy machinery. So made to the needs of a special group of workers using a system invented by Dr. Winkel. This model is 111/48 “Maschinenzeit” which is German for machine time is the last version after the 1/48. Made in Germany in the late 1970’s. It has many different calculations and a whole different layout, many words and symbols compared to a mathematical slide rule. The instructions on the back are in German. The plastic curser has a small kW marked hairline and a long Ps marked hairline. Everything is in very good and complete condition with some signs of normal use and age only.
