When hunting for stoves you sometimes find something else. Gustav Barthel is famous for it’s Juwel stoves, but the company also produced great quality torches for soldering and paint removal. This laboratory burner is just a bit different. It is basically your small stand up stove (like a Primus 71 for instance) but with a different attachment. The first ones in the 1930’s were called Palland, and this newer version from around 1960 is the Neupalland (neu is German for new). It also has a brass gasoline tank. Quality heavy build but also detailed. The Barthel name (and logo) can be found on the sides of the tank and on the bakelite turning knob. The knob lets you adjust the hight of the flame by sliding a small blocking grid up and down. The brass tank also has a Neupalland name tag in brass. No dents, no parts missing. It measures 17 cm or 7 inches from top to bottom. Nice addition to any Barthel stove collection. Could be made to function once again but sold as a display item.
