This is an early ca. 1930’s slide rule by Nestler, model 28 Universal with a 360 degree tachymeter scale. It is probably one of the first models aimed at foreign markets, specially for land surveyors. The 360 degrees are used mostly in English speaking countries. So made to the needs of a special group of workers to aid with the calculation of stadia or tachymeter measuring over great distances, often aided by additional measuring equipment like the Theodolite. The slide rule was later also called the Geometer model (also model 28) and was also made with a 400 Gon scale. It is signed beneath the slider as well as on the original cardboard case. The information decal on the back is still completely readable. The original signed glass cursor has 3 long and 1 small hairlines as well as finger on the side . Everything is in overall good condition and complete with some signs of use and age (some darkening of the white laminate), case shows clear signs of use and age mostly to the case (some old tape on the end which I left on). it measures 27,5 cm or 11 inches.
