This is a military slide rule used for calculating condition for arial photography aka taking pictures out of airplanes. Used for by civilian pilots and crew as well as for army purposes from 1965-1977. This one was issued for the German army (BUND / Bundeswehr) hence the codes on the box and on the bottom half of the rule itself. It comes in the original cardboard case with designation as well as with the dedicated Bildflug manual in German. Everything is complete, no cracks, chips or dings and in working condition with hardly any signs of use but some signs of use (minimal dirt on cursor ends and one rubber foot depressed). The manual is complete but has a torn and has been taped on the front page only. Some scratches and staining on the container as well. It measures ca. 35 cm or 14 inches wide. Check the attached video on how to work your vintage man tool : slide rule operation instructions! And also make sure to take a quick look at the Nestler 55cm / 22″ flugzeit I sold before.
