Arrarex Caravel model 2 yellow Espresso machine 1960 Italy

Ready-to-use vintage lever / lever espresso machine with European 220v power cord (easy to replace). This Caravel by Arrarex is from around 1960, the second model. Beautiful art deco 1950s design, made in Italy. All parts made of stainless steel. The yellow part of the housing was professionaly refurbished in the 1980’s with a new heat resistant layer (now showing minimal signs of use). Then also equipped with rubber feet, but the 4 original ones are still included. Its simple construction makes it indestructible under normal use. It only has a heating element and does not build up pressure itself. You supply and determine the pressure by pressing the lever down. If you do everything just right, you can make the perfect espresso. All 4 internal rubbers have just been replaced (see photo), easy to do and also descaled so no scale inside anywhere. I’ve been using it for 7 years. With the machine you also get the original measuring spoon and a custom-turned tamper. Maintenance set (4x rubber) available through Orphan Espresso.
