Corgi toys 275 Austin Mini Metro box and brochure 1981 England

Made by Corgi toys from England comes this close to new model, still in the original box. It has been produced in 1981 and  only been on display or stored. Package shows some signs of storage only, the box is complete. This interesting model car is the Austin Metro mini and is accompanied by an original sales brochure for the real car from roughly the same period (Dutch). The Box measures 14 cm or 5 3/4 inches wide.

Some words on the Corgi toy brand, which is the name of a range of  die cast toy vehicles created by Mettoy (founded in England in 1933 who created a range of toy vehicles to compete with the Dinky toy brand. Corgi toys were made since 1956 and were sold until 1983 when it became a separate brand called Corgi Toys Limited(1984-1989) after which it was sold to Mattel and in 1995 Corgi regained its independence as the company, Corgi Classics Limited, and became part of the Hornby Company in 2008.
