Keuffel Esser 55cm 22″ short base triangulation slide rule pouch 1950 USA

This extra long wooden military slide rule comes in its original high quality leather pouch (signed US). It is also signed US on the slide rule, indicating it was made specifically for military purposes. This was provided to the artillery crew of the army to calculate shooting angels through distance and elevation calculations based on triangulation. It was made to military spec by the Keuffel&Esser company, probably in the 1950’s. The slider has 2 sides with angle and unit scales. The original cursor has 2 hairlines and has both the original sides, with a small crack in the unique meter / yard side. Also the leather pouch is missing the top cover part. Otherwise this item is in very good condition with only small signs of use and age. It measures ca. 55 cm or ca 22 inches. Check out the similar slide rule by Nestler from Germany.
