Description

This is piece of Italian Coffee history. This original Stella Tipo S was produced in the 1930’s or 40’s as a stand alone unit. It makes one small strong cup of coffee in percolator / moka pot style using a flame burning on lamp oil. It has a patent number on the bottom as well. It is made of tin base metal with a nickel plating that is mostly intact. There are clear signs of use so it has been operated in the past. There are also signs of solder so it has been repaired at some point (and it is missing the inner rubber gasket) so I am selling this as a piece of coffee design history rather then for use. It measures only 14 cm or 5 3/4 inches high. See the video on the idea behind the modern day stove top moka pot, based on our little Stella Tipo S.
