From the early 1970’s comes this cool blue Porsche 917 computer car. Made by Tandy from Hong Kong specially for the Radioshack stores in the USA. Even mor special is the fact that it is an early “computer” and that it comes in the original box as well. The car works on 2 large C power cells (not included) and needs the yellow plastic pieces (3 accounted for) to tell it how to drive. These yellow pieces turn on the grey pivot on the back while pushing the steel rod next to it further out. This rod is connected to the steering of the front wheels making it turn in different ways. The car itself is made out of plastic and it measures about 27 cm or 11 inches long. It is in overall very good condition with only some paint missing on the top and part of the number 5 decals were stuck to the tape that fixed it inside the box (1 still could be saved). When I installed the batteries, the head light were working but the motor turned slowly with a screaming sound after some fiddling, perhaps this can be fixed but sold as display piece. The box is complete but has a tear in the see-through part. Great piece of racing and Radioshack history! Check the attached video for a great vintage toy collection!
